Agamemnon 1900
The AGAMEMNON was performed at the New Theatre on November 16-21.
The actors’ text and translation sold to audiences was A.E. transl. A. Swanwick, Aeschylus: Agamemnon (Cambridge 1900). The music, by Sir Hubert Parry (by now Director of the Royal College of Music and a famous composer), was published by Novello.
"The performance on the last night was a triumph… Mr Crace’s impersonation of Cassandra was nothing less than superb." - The Guardian, 28th November 1900
