Sponsorship
The Greek Play relies on the wonderful generosity of its supporters, without whom the tradition would quite simply be unsustainable.
In the last twenty-five years Greek play has been supported by many very generous donors.
We owe a particular debt of thanks to the Leventis Foundation and the Gatsby Foundation for their exceptional generosity.
Significant financial support has also been received from Gifford Coombes, Bill Janeway, Trinity College, St John’s College, the Faculty of Classics, Cambridge and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge.
We are also very grateful to the following Cambridge Colleges for donations and for providing accommodation for student performers: Clare, Clare Hall, Corpus, Emmanuel, Gonville & Caius, Homerton, Jesus, King’s, Magdalene, Newnham, Pembroke, Peterhouse, Robinson, St Catharine’s and Wolfson Colleges, and to the Faculty of English for use of the Judith E. Wilson Drama Studio.
Many individuals have given generously to individual performances, including Robert and Elaine Culshaw, David Hare, Phyllida Lloyd, Michael Marshall, Adrian (John) Osborn and Janet Suzman.
Enquiries about supporting the Cambridge Greek Play are always very gratefully received by the Treasurer, Professor James Clackson (jptc1@cam.ac.uk).
The Cambridge Greek Play has charitable status.
